Interactive multimedia exhibition

Art that opens beyond the frame

Point your phone at an artwork and watch it unfold in three dimensions. No app to install, no account — and every piece can also be explored without a camera.

Works in Chrome or Safari on a phone with a rear camera.

A painting of a giant porcelain teacup floating on a calm evening sea, with a red-and-white lighthouse growing out of the water inside the cup, its lamp sweeping a beam across a violet dusk.

How it works

  1. Point your camera at the artwork

Tap Start AR experience, allow the camera once, and hold your phone up to a piece on display.

  2. Wait for the artwork to be detected

You will see and hear “Artwork found” with its title when it is recognised.

  3. Explore the experience

Drag or use the on-screen buttons to turn it, pinch or use the zoom buttons to look closer.

Why we ask for your camera

Camera access is needed to recognise the artwork and display the augmented experience.

  • Your camera image is processed on your phone. It is not uploaded, recorded or stored.
  • You are asked once, at the moment you tap Start — never before.
  • No account and no personal information are needed to visit.
  • Prefer not to? Every artwork is available without a camera.

Made to be explored by everyone

AR is one way into the exhibition, not the only one.

  • Every artwork has a written description, image description and a description of its AR experience.
  • Narration comes with a full transcript and never plays on its own.
  • Every gesture has a button alternative. The site works with a keyboard and screen reader.
  • Reduced-motion settings are respected.
